Sofronis Clerides

Sofronis Clerides holds a BA (Honors) in Economics and Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin and a PhD in Economics from Yale University. He worked as a researcher at the World Bank. Since 1998 he has been working at the University of Cyprus, where he is now Professor of Economics and Department Chair. During this period he also taught at Yale University, the European University Institute and Georgetown University and spent a year as a visiting scholar at Northwestern University on a Marie Curie fellowship. He is currently a Research Fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), one of Europe’s most important economics research networks. His research focuses on firm and consumer behavior and he has published several articles in prestigious academic journals.
