15 June - 16 September 2021

With an exceptional marriage of arts, on paths that travel us between tradition and today, the Faneromeni21 Art Festival, addressed all ages and welcomes us to the open-air amphitheatre of the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation, from June 17 until mid-September.

The Festival opens its doors with the music and dance performance "Vassilis Tsitsanis - Harama" by the Rebetiki Fatria music group, on Thursday 17 June.

This is followed by the musical-theatrical performance "1821-2021 Cypriots’ Struggles: Our share, with Elena Hatziafxenti" which will take plane on July 1st. Musicians Andreas Papapetrou, Marios Nikolaou and Veronica Aloneftou take part in this performance, which through the personal stories of heroes, praise the Cypriots who fought in the Revolution of 1821.

On September 2, the People of Cyprus research group and the Yiasemin team, with the theatrical performance "People of Faneromeni", will introduce the"ecosystem" of the people living and moving within the city walls of Nicosia and around the neighbourhoods of Faneromeni. The performance will combine theater, live music and videos.

As a regular to Faneromeni Art Festivals, Vasiliki Anastasiou with "The Amalgamation Project", will lead us on a unique musical journey-amalgam of west and east, on September 9th.

Finally, on September 16, the Santouto flog-music group closes the curtains of the Festival with traditional music, inviting us to remember again the beauties of our country, with their concert "Tis karkias to parathyri".

One more thing! The open-air amphitheatre of the Cultural Foundation is transformed again this year into an open-air summer cinema for young and old, with a series of screenings in collaboration with the Friends of Cinema Group. The films that will be screened this year are: "Yesterday" (24/6), "Moana" (29/7), "Il Postino" (5/8) and "Buena Vista Social Club" (26/8).
